I remember this Easter fondly. Wearing my Easter best: a dress full of satin ribbon & ruffles and a big fluffy bow perched on my head. Inside my Easter basket were the typical findings- plastic eggs filled with candy, chocolate and tiny trinkets. But the items I remember most were the 2 new bows I received that year. One was made up of bright pink continuous loops and the other was a clear plastic filled with beads & glitter suspended in liquid. The coolest bows my young eyes had ever seen. I remember proudly wearing them to preschool just knowing I was IT. The pinnacle moment of my 4 years on earth.
I don't know what happened to those bows- I'm sure the clear one eventually ripped and lost its allure. The pink bow probably got tattered. But I will never forget how special those felt to me. There were of course many bow moments to follow- wearing them through my teen years all the way to tastefully incorporating them in my wedding. I wonder now if those little moments helped establish the business I have built today. I think that little girl would be giddy to know I now get to dress Easter baskets in big, beautiful bows, fill them with curated bow sets & create various keepsake pieces that I hope bring the same magical feeling to other little children around the globe.
